How a global manufacturing leader restored business continuity after supplier collapse with a flexible Managed Print solution

14th April 2026 | Case Study

Client Overview

Stolle Machinery is the world’s leading supplier of machinery and integrated systems for the canmaking industry, supporting manufacturers in producing high-quality beverage and food cans. With engineering and manufacturing facilities across the globe, including its UK operations, the company delivers cutting-edge technology and precision equipment to clients worldwide. Stolle’s UK site plays a key role in the organisation’s global service and innovation strategy, requiring reliable technology infrastructure to support both operational and administrative processes.

The Challenge

In 2022, Stolle Machinery UK faced an unexpected disruption when their existing Ricoh Managed Print supplier ceased operations, leaving the organisation without support for its existing print devices. This sudden loss of service created potential operational risks within a production-driven environment where reliable document and print processes are essential. Additionally, several Ricoh devices were still under active lease agreements, meaning the organisation required a provider capable of supporting a mixed-device print environment while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Our Solution

Workflo Solutions quickly stepped in to stabilise Stolle’s print infrastructure and restore service continuity. Initially, three Konica Minolta multifunction devices were installed to ensure reliable printing and document workflows could continue without interruption. Workflo also assumed responsibility for the existing Ricoh print fleet, delivering unified monitoring, maintenance and consumables management across all devices regardless of manufacturer. As Stolle’s UK operations continued to grow, Workflo expanded the solution with additional print devices and supporting services.

Mixed-Fleet Managed Print Support

Workflo delivered centralised management of both Ricoh and Konica Minolta devices, ensuring consistent support across the entire print environment.

Infrastructure Stabilisation

New devices were installed quickly to restore reliable print services and minimise disruption following the supplier collapse.

Document Digitisation & Secure Disposal

Additional services including document scanning solutions and secure shredding services were introduced to improve document workflows and maintain compliance with data protection requirements.

Results

Workflo’s rapid response enabled Stolle Machinery UK to quickly restore stability to its print environment while creating a more scalable and flexible infrastructure for future growth. By managing both legacy and new hardware, Workflo delivered a seamless solution that maintained operational continuity while simplifying device management.

The partnership has since expanded to include additional document services, creating a fully integrated solution supporting Stolle’s operational needs.
